Cheeky Midweek Date Night – Amaya Knightsbridge

So whilst we were busy packing up our house in South London ready for our move this week, the Lil Dumpling was staying with his grandparents in Suffolk.

Never ones to miss an opportunity to eat food uninterrupted and child-free, hubs took me out for a Date Night at the Michelin Starred Amaya in Knightsbridge on Tuesday.

Cocktails and Tasty Light Bites cooked in Amaya’s Tandoori Oven

From the time we arrived to when we left, the service was just as superb as the elegant decor.

After being seated with the perfect view of the open Tandoori Kitchen, our server was kind and attentive in explaining the menu and order process before bringing out our cocktails – mine a non alcoholic Ginger & Lemongrass and hubs a fruity rum based cocktail (which I can’t remember the name of) which he says was delicious!

We ordered a selection of light bites including a peppery chicken breast and Lamb cooked in a delicious chilli seasoning – my description doing it no justice whatsoever hence the pics!

Lamb Korma & Chilli Lamb Chop at Amaya

We were hungry when we arrived, having spent the entire day packing, but each and every bite was glorious! We could tell that effort and skill had gone into selecting, preparing, marinading and grilling each dish before it was present beautifully.

The light bites were quickly followed up by a lamb Korma curry for main for me and king prawn curry for hubs which we coupled with deliciously fluffy pilau rice and garlic naan, all of which were treats for our tastebuds! There was nothing we didn’t like! My only criticism is that there should have been more!! But then I’m greedy and pregnant! 🤰🏾🤷🏾‍♀️🤣

Amaya’s signature Cheesecake

Even though I may complain that there could have been more food, it is through pure gluttony as we were both stuffed after our main – we could only manage a signature cheesecake dessert between us which was again, beautifully presented.

Overall, we were very happy with the service, food, ambience and experience at Amaya and would definitely recommend it to anyone if you fancy a little decadent treat in the heart of the City! A bit pricey but well worth the taste sensations each dish provides!

If you’ve been to Amaya before I would love to know what you thought about it. Leave a comment below – would love to hear your experiences at this classy establishment! 😊👌🏾👏🏾
