Popeye would be proud!

One thing I struggle with each day is making sure I get a good daily intake of iron and vitamins.

I hate taking tablets, so I prefer to use whole foods as my source of goodness. One of the easiest ways I’ve found to get a good dose of iron and vitamins is to drink smoothies!

My favourite smoothie for the past two years has been my ‘Hulk juice’ aka a green smoothie.

The main ingredients are shown in the above photo; Spinach, Pineapple, Banana and a selection of my fave vitamins from Organic Burst (I’ll blog about these at some point!). I usually use Maca, Wheatgrass and Chlorella and drink it post-workout.

It gives me a great energy boost, helps get rid of the overnight toxins and is a great way to get a good dose of iron from the spinach. If you don’t like spinach, fear not; you can barely taste it as the sweetness of the banana and tanginess of the pineapple overpowers it.

Just put all of the ingredients plus 1tsp of whatever vitamin you want, in a nutribullet or any blender, blitz it for a couple of minutes until well blended and gulp it down like only Popeye could…so simple and nutritious!

Another favourite is using apple or pear instead of pineapple and if I’m feeling really adventurous, I’ll add in some raw kale too. Proper yum.
